The Alfa Romeo Stelvio comes into the 2019 model year with a RWD variation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard features! 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Power & Handling

Alfa Romeo offers two engine options for the Stelvio SUV. The standard engine, powering most of the lineup is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that produces 280 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque. This engine can be configured with both RWD and AWD drivetrain configurations. The EPA has estimated this engine can produce up to 29 mpg on the highway. This engine is enhanced with Alfa Romeo's DNA driving mode selector. DNA stands for Dynamic, Natural, and Advanced Efficiency drive modes. The Quadrifoglio trim level is powered by a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that generates 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. This engine can get up to 23 mpg on the highway. Both engine options are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. For your towing needs, the Stelvio is rated to haul up to 3,000 pounds. 

2019 BMW X3 Power & Handling

BMW also offers two engine options for the X3. The first is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that generates 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine can be configured with both RWD and AWD configurations. EPA estimations conclude the X3 can reach up to 30 mpg on the highway with this engine. The second engine option is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 that delivers 355 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. This engine is only configured with AWD and reaches up to 27 mpg on the highway. BMW pairs both engines with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Features & Design

The Stelvio is offered in three trim levels for the 2019 model year. They include the base Ti and Quadrifoglio. Standard features consist of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry and ignition, a power liftgate, Brembo brakes, 18" wheels, xenon headlights, a rearview camera, roof rails, dual-zone automatic climate control, four USB ports a 6.5" touchscreen, an 8-speaker sound system. Upper trims add larger wheels, parking sensors, navigation, an 8.8" touchscreen, Harman Kardon sound system, and more! There are a number of packages available for the Stelvio trim levels, allowing the consumer to outfit the Stelvio with features like stiffer suspension tuning, paddle shifters, driver-adjustable adaptive suspension, driver assistance features, and so much more!

2019 BMW X3 Features & Design

The BMW X3 is also offered in three trim levels, the sDrive30i, xDrive30i, and the M40i. Standard features for the 2019 model year include a 6.2-inch central display, tri-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front sport seats, keyless ignition, roof rails, a rearview camera, a power tailgate, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, simulated leather upholstery, a USB port, a 12-speaker audio system, and driver-seat memory functions. The M40i adds automatic high beams, a sport-tuned suspension, and front and rear parking sensors. There are also a lot of packages available for the X3 offering features like driver assistance features, exterior style elements, panoramic sunroof, and more.


Both of these SUVs are great options but the 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio is the clear winner! The BMW X3 tried to keep up but the Stelvio's engine options blow the X3 out of the water. The Stelvio also boasts more standard features and available features that the X3 just can't keep up with!
