2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio vs 2018 Audi A4 near Bronx, NY

The Stelvio is an all-new vehicle in 2018. It offers a great deal of speed, luxury, and an all-new experience overall. The A4, on the other hand, has been around for a bit and has only changed a little bit of its standard items. If you want to learn more about the difference in power and design on these two luxury compact SUVs and how they compare to each other, then read on!

2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Power & Handling

The Stelvio offers two engine types. The first engine is a 2-liter turbocharged inline-4 with 280 horsepower and 306 lb-ft of torque. The second engine is a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine with 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with stop/start. The Stelvio is also capable of towing up to 3,000 pounds maximum.

2018 Audi A4 Power & Handling

The A4 has one engine choice with either Ultra or quattro. The 2-liter turbocharged inline-4 Ultra makes 190 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The 2-liter turbocharged inline-4 quattro makes 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The first is paired to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, while the second choice is paired to a six-speed manual transmission.

2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Features & Design

The Stelvio offers a base trim, a Ti trim, and a multitude of feature-heavy packages. The base trim is loaded with top-notch features and the Ti simply builds off that with a little more safety and the addition of heated seats and steering wheel. Available packages include the Sport, Ti-Specific Performance, and Convenience. A lot of the most advanced safety features of 2018 can be added on through a Static and Dynamic driver assistance package as well.

2018 Audi A4 Features & Design

The Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige trims are all available on the A4. While these trims do add a little bit more to them overall they lack in package choices and many can only be added to the top trim and not to all three. Safety features can also be lacking as they cannot as easily be added by package, but through the choice of trim level chosen. If you want lane departure warning and intervention you need to get the top trim level.

With all that the Stelvio has to offer for safety and power, it definitely beats the A4 and its lack of package options.
